Legal

TWClipper respects intellectual property rights and responds promptly to valid copyright takedown requests under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Our Position on Copyright

TWClipper is a tool that lets people save copies of X (Twitter) videos, photos, and GIFs that are already public. We do not host, store, or distribute any X content ourselves. Every download is fetched directly from X’s own servers at the moment a user requests it, based on a link the user provides.

Consequently, we are not the publisher of any content downloaded through TWClipper, and we have no ability to pre-screen links for copyright status. However, we take copyright seriously and will act quickly on legitimate takedown notices.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe content accessible through TWClipper infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to us. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), your notice must include:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material you claim is infringing, including the specific X (Twitter) URL involved.
  • Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Send notices to shnaewatson@gmail.com with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Request.” We will review valid notices and, where appropriate, restrict our tool from processing the reported link.

Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was restricted in error, you may submit a counter-notice with your contact information, identification of the material, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake. We will forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant as required by law.

Repeat Infringers

We reserve the right to restrict TWClipper access for links repeatedly flagged as infringing, in line with standard DMCA repeat-infringer policy.
